Our Maserati GranTurismo S was delivered new in Sweden and put into circulation on April 21, 2010. It has 4 owners, and is imported to France for its current owner, who acquires it during the year 2022.
This copy is in a very good general condition and has benefited from serious maintenance. In an Anthracite Gray color, combined with 20” Neptune-Grigio Mercury wheels, a black leather and alcantara interior, carbon elements and a gray alcantara headliner, this Maserati GranTurismo S is free of defects. It should be noted that integral ceramic has been applied to the body.
Mechanically, the functioning of this model is irreproachable. The 4.7L V8 borrowed from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, developing 440 horsepower, combined with the 6-speed automatic gearbox, offers a sublime metallic sound. The maintenance is carried out in the Maserati Center and by specialists, and the various works can be consulted via the up-to-date maintenance log. The last revision was carried out in April 2024 at 53,057 kilometers.
Here are the options and equipment available to this copy:
In the 1960s and 70s, Maserati, under the leadership of Giulio Alferi, aimed at grand touring models and developed its range according to this objective. Very often compared to Ferrari for the sporty aspect of its models, Maserati nevertheless stands out by offering Grand Tourism models that focus on luxury and comfort, and a little less sporty. From 2007, and after having abandoned this philosophy for a few years, Maserati returned to its first strategic choices and moved again towards the creation of GT models. The GranSport or 3200 GT will therefore remain sportier than the newcomer in 2007, the aptly named GranTurismo.
However, don't get me wrong, the GranTurismo doesn't give up on the fabulous V8 engine and its vocals. On the other hand, its general behavior is slightly modified. Aesthetically, the GranTurismo is a true masterpiece by Pininfarina. However, the GTs of the 1960s were then designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Italian firm, based on a longer platform, manages to create a sporty line while allowing 2+2 seats in the cabin. The wings are curved, the stern receives new lights and the rear receives two double exhaust outlets. The radiator grill uses the principle of the sublimated concave radiator grill of its Trident. The entire extended hood, combined with the lights stretched downwards, gives the GranTurismo the air of a true super sports car. The cabin is equipped with Poltrona Frau leather upholstery, while the standard equipment is more than generous. The 4.2L V8 engine offers 405 horsepower, but this base version will soon be joined by the Maserati GranTurismo S, to put everyone in agreement.
In 2008, Maserati responded to the criticisms of the lack of sporting temperament, in particular thanks to the support of Ferrari, and unveiled the S version of its GT. The design does not pass by, and benefits from some changes. The rims gain 1” in diameter, the rocker panels are remodelled by side skirts, the optics recover a black background, which is also the case for the radiator grill repainted in black. The trunk lid gains more support with an integrated spoiler while two large exhaust outlets ostentatiously highlight the version. The cabin shows increased sportsmanship, with an aluminum pedals, leather and Alcantara upholstery and a 3-spoke steering wheel. The gear lever also makes way for paddles at the wheel. The biggest change is under the hood, with a complete engine change. The 4.2L V8 gives way to a brand new 4.7L V8, which turns out to be the same V8 delivered to Alfa Romeo by Ferrari for the 8C Competizione. Slightly quieter, the new V8 delivers 440 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. Once Sport Mode is activated, the engine and exhausts release a deep and metallic sound, typically Italian. Overall behavior and performance are on the rise, but the GranTurismo S maintains its GT aspect in its use, a good compromise between two worlds operated by Maserati.
