The Aston Martin DB11 is a two-door grand tourer, produced from 2016 to 2023. It succeeded the DB9, manufactured from 2004 to 2016, and was part of Aston Martin's “Second Century Plan”. The model was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, under the direction of designer Marek Reichman, and marks a turning point in the brand's design, with a widely used aluminum platform, which was also used for the Vantage and the DBS Superleggera.
Production of the DB11 started in Gaydon in September 2016, with two engine versions: a 4.0-liter V8, developed by Mercedes-AMG, and a 5.2-liter V12, designed by Aston Martin. The V8 model, launched in 2017, offered a better weight/power ratio, while the V12 was improved in 2018 in the form of the AMR model, with power increased to 630 horsepower.
The DB11 was equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a double-wishbone suspension. In 2017, Aston Martin also introduced the Volante model, a convertible. Production ended in 2023, with the DB11 being replaced by the DB12. This model remains a pillar of grand tourism, combining comfort and performance.
