Our Porsche 911 3.0 SC Coupé was put into circulation on April 14, 1981 in France. It was acquired by its current owner in March 2020.

This copy is in a very good general condition, close to excellence. In a Metallic Silver Gray color, combined with black Fuchs rims, blue Carrera side bands and a black leather interior, our 911 3.0 SC Coupé is extremely well preserved. Light interventions on the body, the rims and the driver's seat will make an example in perfect condition.

Its mechanical functioning is irreproachable. Its 3.0L Flat 6 developing 204 horsepower, combined with a 5-speed mechanical gearbox, offers sensations that are as amazing as ever. Model History and Evolution

Since its appearance in 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Porsche 911 has been a real success. Its first generation, although complex to pilot due to its architecture, impresses with its performance and manufacturing quality. In 1976, a new model appeared at Porsche, the 924. Equipped with a front engine, the 924 was quickly followed by the 928 two years later. The front V8 engine architecture, in total opposition to the philosophy of the 911, was welcomed by customers. These new models were the idea of Ernst Fuhrmann, then director of Porsche, to get out of the 911 monoculture.

Ernst Fuhrmann, rather reluctant to the idea of extending the production of the 911, planned to replace it with the 928 and the models with front V8 engines. The decision comes at the same time as a decline in 911 sales and a series of global changes, including rising oil prices and growing public concern about ecology and safety. Since the 911 was the brand's flagship model, Ernst Fuhrmann's decision was not at all appreciated by customers. Financial losses, especially in 1980, got the better of the brand director. His replacement by Peter Schutz was quickly implemented.

Two years earlier, in 1978, Porsche unveiled what should have been the last 911, the 911 SC. Fusion between the 2.7 and the Carrera 3.0, this 911 SC then developed only 180 horsepower, a decrease in power, a first for the 911. It maintains the wide fenders, chrome headlights, steering wheel from 2.7 and gearbox from 3.0. This version quickly received improvements in 1979, with optional chromes, the Turbo's 3-spoke steering wheel and 8 additional horsepower. Finally, in 1981, the 911 SC received a second improvement, with a high power of 204 horsepower. More popular than the 928, the 911 SC is a sign that the 911 is not a model of the past. In order to relaunch the brand, Peter Schutz called on Ferry Porsche. The two men developed the 911 Cabriolet, which would definitively return the 911 to its rightful place.
