Regular maintenance and extensive work have been carried out on this model, which can be consulted thanks to a fully stamped service book and invoices. Its mileage of 30,373 miles (48,880 kilometers) is justified by its service book and MOT (CT test) history. The last service and MOT test was carried out in August 2023, just 182 miles (292 kilometers) ago.
This car is particularly desirable as it is a cabriolet version and it is one of the very few Gallardos fitted with a 6-speed open gate manual gearbox. It is estimated that only 3% of the entire worldwide production run were manual cars, making this RHD example an even rarer find.
The manual gearbox allows the driver to experience modern supercar performance, road holding and handling, while also enjoying the pure analog driving sensations and control, that comes with a 3-pedal car.
In a world where many supercars now only offer semi-automatic driving systems, being able to savour the pure driving joy, a Gallardo with a manual box can provide, is an increasingly rare and very special opportunity.
This rarely available manual gearbox Gallardo Spyder is the best value entry into the fabulous world of Lamborghini — home of the raging bull!
A turning point at Lamborghini more than 20 years ago was when Audi took over the Italian sports car brand, in 1998. In 2003, after the new Murciélago, the second new model to be presented was the Gallardo, which is structurally related to the Audi R8. The name Gallardo comes from one of the five main fighting bull breeds. The Gallardo Spyder was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006. It was considered by the company to be an entirely new model, with the engine having a power output of 520 PS (382 kW; 513 hp), up from the original Gallardo's 500 PS, and a low-ratio six-speed manual transmission. From 2006 on, and found on the car we are offering, Lamborghini introduced many changes to the car to counter some criticisms garnered from the press and owners. The exhaust system was changed to a sportsman one (including a flap to make it quieter during city driving), the suspension was revised, a new steering rack was fitted, the engine power was raised, as mentioned, and the biggest change was overall lower gearing ratios, especially in 1st to 5th gear. These changes gave the car a much better performance than the original.
The Gallardo is a very accessible supercar; the V10 offers mighty power throughout the rev range, the six-speed manual gearbox snicks through well-chosen ratios with great precision and the four-wheel-drive gives terrifying traction and control under full acceleration and at high cornering speeds, flattering even an average driver's ability. In short, the car rewards its owner with a unique combination of speed, power, handling and roadholding, and exclusive luxury while being easy to live with as a daily supercar.
Built from 2003 to 2013, the Gallardo was the company's best-selling model, with 14,022 built throughout its production run. The advantage of this high production run (compared to lesser Ferrari counterparts) for buyers today is that the Gallardo is very well proven and combines Italian flair with German attention to detail.
