Our Porsche 911 3.0 SC, put into circulation on October 29, 1979 in Germany, is now registered in France. It has a total of 273,100 kilometers and changed owners for the last time in May 2013.
This 3.0 SC comes in an original Metallic Oak Green (Oakgruen Metallic) color combined with a Beige/Brown interior. The body has some slight defects in use — in particular a paint on the front bumper that may be expected — but the whole remains very homogeneous. The Fuchs rims are in very good condition. The interior is original and in good overall condition, with only a few scratches on the cap due to regular use.
On the mechanical side, the 200-horsepower 3.0L flat-six works perfectly and will be revised for the new owner. A stainless steel silencer has been installed, adding a slight sonic character without affecting the authenticity of the model. The engine was rebuilt in 1996 at 141,000 km by FVD in Umkirch, and a complete overhaul of the body was carried out in 2006 by Karambellec.

The Porsche 911 SC, introduced in 1978, marks a significant evolution in the line of 911s. The acronym “SC” (Super Carrera) was reused for the first time since the 356 SC. Equipped with a 3.0 liter aluminum engine, it adopts Bosch K-Jetronic injection and a 5-speed manual gearbox type 915. Its power increased from 180 hp to 204 hp in 1981.
The initial objective was to replace the 911 with the 928, but its commercial success led Porsche to review its strategy and extend the production of the model. In 1981, a cabriolet prototype with all-wheel drive was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The serial version, marketed as early as 1983, became the first Porsche cabriolet since the 356 in the 1960s.
The SC model benefits from an optimized chassis and a more robust body. In all, 58,914 units were produced until 1983. It was under the leadership of Peter W. Schutz that the 911 was saved from abandonment, marking a decisive turning point for Porsche. The heritage of the SC contributes to the sustainability of the 911 model, which will remain a pillar of the brand.
