Our BMW 3.0 CSi was delivered new in 1973 in Germany. It then had 4 owners, including the last French one in 2020. Our BMW 3.0 CSi is in a remarkable overall condition, the body has been completely restored and is completely free of corrosion. The completely redone cream leather interior matches perfectly with the Atlantic Blau exterior color. The chrome, aluminum strips, aluminum rims and original hubcaps as well as the dashboard and other interior and exterior accessories are also in perfect condition.
Our BMW 3.0 CSi is working perfectly. The 200-horsepower 3.0-liter six-cylinder combined with the 4-speed manual gearbox still offers astonishing performances. It has benefited from regular maintenance. The latest work carried out focused on the replacement of the shock absorbers (Bilstein B6), the draining of the engine, gearbox and axle, the replacement of the hoses, the spark plugs and the harness carried out by a specialist. A new complete revision will be carried out for sale.
The BMW 3.0 CSi, presented in 1971 at the Geneva Motor Show, belongs to the E9 coupe series, inaugurated by the 2800 CS in 1968.
Like all E9 Coupes, the 3.0 CSi is distinguished by the elegance of its body, characterized by the absence of a central pillar. Thus, when the 4 windows are lowered, you benefit from a complete lateral opening.
This particularity was already present on the previous 2000 C and CS Coupes, whose body was also made by the body builder Karmann.
Under the hood of the 3.0 CSi, we find the excellent 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder in its best version developing 200 horsepower thanks to the contribution of Bosch D-Jetronic injection, instead of the 3.0 CS's two carburetors.
The performances of 3.0 CSi remain quite exceptional for a comfortable and luxurious coupe of this era. 220 km/h in top speed and less than 8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h remain figures that are still current.
A modern and high-quality design allows these performances to be exploited safely: independent front and rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and power steering, giving it excellent handling and remarkable road handling.
Remarkably finished, upholstered in leather (as is the case with our copy) or thick velvet, the 3.0 CSi's bright and luxurious cabin is a true invitation to travel. The dashboard, which is very complete, is covered in wood over the entire width, in line with the woodwork of the storm doors.
Produced until 1975, the 3.0 CS and CSi were replaced the same year by the new E24, 630 CS and 633 CSi Coupes.
Considered a great classic for a long time, the 3.0 CSi is increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of distinguished as well as sporty cars.
