Since April 25, 1931, when the company Porsche GmbH was founded by Ferdinand Porsche, the German brand has been at the forefront of the global automotive scene. Its ability to produce models at the cutting edge of technology allows it to remain among the leaders. Between the 911, Boxster, Cayman ranges and the models entered in racing, the know-how of the German firm is well established. Over the years, the race for power and exclusivity has raged among manufacturers. Thus, in the early 2000s, the German firm launched the production of a new model: the Carrera GT, a real supercar.

Considered as the “flag bearers” of brands, these models illustrate know-how and their ability to push technological boundaries. The Carrera GT was the first supercar produced in relative quantities by Porsche. Indeed, the German brand had already produced, a few years earlier, the very impressive Porsche 959 in some 300 copies and the Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion in about 20 copies.

The Carrera GT has a 612 horsepower V10 engine and is a flagship model of the 2000s, all brands combined. The style studies carried out and the use of composite materials allow it to go through the years without aging a wrinkle, making it a model that is still relevant in 2023.

In 2013, Porsche repeated by introducing a new supercar. The Porsche 918 Spyder is the new top of the German brand's list. This model allows Porsche to reaffirm its design quality, but also its ability to integrate new technologies. The Porsche 918 Spyder was one of the first hybrid supercars, along with the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari. The two electric motors add 265 horsepower, combined with a 610-horsepower naturally aspirated V8, for a total of 875 horsepower. With this supercar, Porsche is beginning its transition to the hybrid, allowing it to freely explore this future technology.

After ten years of reign of the 918 Spyder, Porsche is making an announcement highly anticipated by fans of the brand. The future hypercar has arrived, or at least its concept. Named Mission X, the Porsche concept that will succeed the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder is 100% electric. Lightweight structure, glass screen, carbon exoskeleton and a cabin entirely dedicated to the driver, the Mission X concept has the characteristics of a true hypercar, offering a taste of the future.

Careful about the information revealed, the German brand highlights the ability of its concept to become the fastest production car on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. This objective must be achieved through a unique design, combining advanced aerodynamics, power and lightness. Porsche announces a weight/power ratio of around 1:1, enough to offer first-class performance. Still in the concept stage, the Porsche Mission X still has many mysteries, both in terms of its design and its production to the general public. As no confirmation has been made, Mission X remains, for now, a simple vision of the future of the Stuttgart-based firm.
