Our Porsche 911 Type 996 Carrera 4S, with 123,000 KM on the clock, was put into circulation in Italy on October 15, 2003 before being imported to France in February 2012. The vehicle has had 5 owners in France, with rigorous and transparent monitoring.
This model is distinguished by a Midnight Blue Metallic color (L39C) and a Savanne leather interior (SD). The overall condition of the body and the interior is very good, and the on-board instrumentation is working perfectly.
Under the hood, this 996 Carrera 4S is equipped with the 3.6L Flat-6 engine developing 320 horsepower, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mechanically, this example is in excellent condition. Note that a major revision including drain, filters, filters, spark plugs, silent blocks and more was carried out in September 2024. The IMS was changed preventively in 2022, as well as the air/oil separator and the driveshaft flector. Finally, the gearbox is changed at 105,000 km and the clutch and dual-mass flywheel are changed at the same time. The maintenance of this Porsche was carried out by Porsche or by specialists. All maintenance documents and invoices are available. The future owner will not have to pay any costs over the coming months.
Here are the options and equipment available to this copy:
Launched in 1997, the Porsche 911 Type 996 is the 5th generation of 911. Unlike its predecessor 993, the 996 took a major technological and aesthetic turn, and in particular switched to water cooling for ecological reasons. The German brand decided to reduce its production costs by integrating large-scale production, and by reusing parts from other models, such as those from the Boxster.
The body is more imposing, with 18.5 cm in length, 3 cm in width and a wheelbase increased by 8 cm. The design is sleek and unadorned. At the mechanical level, water cooling, although highly criticized upon release, allows an increase in power and performance. The downsizing of the 3.4L engine does not prevent the power from increasing to 300 horsepower for the base model. A redesign of the engine will be carried out for a return to the 3.6L Flat 6 later, making it possible to increase to 320 horsepower for the 996 Carrera 4S in particular.
At the aesthetic level, the use of the Boxster optics for the 911 is not practical. The situation was quickly corrected with the release of the 911 Turbo and its inimitable look. The 996 Carrera 4S, which will be released some time later, will benefit from the changes made and in particular features the Turbo body, with headlights, wide fenders, and the return of the famous red band at the rear. The 996 Carrera 4S is one of the most popular 996 models thanks to its Turbo look design and excellent performance.
