Our Porsche 911 Type 996 Carrera, put into circulation on December 19, 1997 in France, has 185,000 KM on the clock. It is in excellent mechanical condition, thanks to a complete restoration of its engine.
This model comes in a Black Swartz Metallic shade, combined with a black interior in excellent condition. Its body is in perfect condition, apart from a few slight chippings and a mark on the passenger side rear rim.

Maintenance was provided at the Porsche Center and then by a recognized specialist, with invoices covering more than 10 years of history. The last complete overhaul was carried out on 15 March 2024 at 177,963 KM. All consumables are new: front/rear discs and pads changed, very recent tires, new Bilstein B4 shock absorbers. The Porsche 911 Type 996, produced from 1997 to 2006, marked a major technical breakthrough for the German brand. Succeeding the 993, it introduced a water-cooled flat-six engine, a first for the 911, imposed by emission standards and the need for better performance. Its development was shared with the Boxster 986, released shortly before, making it possible to reduce production costs, while Porsche was experiencing financial difficulties.
The 996's design, overseen by Harm Lagaay and Pinky Lai, adopted an entirely new body that was longer and wider than the 993. The “fried egg” headlights, inherited from the 911 GT1, are causing controversy. The platform and the interior are also revised, introducing increased stiffness and better aerodynamics (Cx of 0.30).
At its launch, the Carrera was equipped with a 3.4-liter 300 horsepower engine. In 2002, a restyling brought a 3.6-liter engine and redesigned headlights. The 996 evolves with Turbo, GT3, and GT2 variants, while the Carrera 4S adopts the expanded Turbo body. Despite the debates over its style, the 996 modernized the 911 and ensured the survival of Porsche.
