This Porsche 911 SC left the factory on 20/10/1981. Entirely original model with the engine, the gearbox and the color Blanc de France in matching number, it comes with a mileage of 254,400 km and a good general condition.
Of German origin, she went through France, then through England to return to the Paris region in 2007. Its configuration with its Blanc de France color, its black interior and its sunroof coupe make it a model of choice. It has a complete history with all the original Porsche stamps on the maintenance book, as well as numerous invoices and original documentation.
With a chassis in good condition, it has no traces of perforating rust and calipers, discs and brake pads in very good condition. Despite its good general condition, this car requires significant mechanical work, especially to pass the technical inspection. After a complete checkup carried out by a professional, the following elements should be repeated:
- Differential and gearbox,
- Complete repair of the engine to redo the seals,
- Gimbals to be changed.
This car therefore needs a lot of work and will be perfect for someone who wants to embark on a repair project on an iconic model and in good general condition. The work can be done before the sale, with quotes supported by a specialist.
In the years 1970-1980, the 911 went through a dark period. The boss of Porsche, Ernst Fuhrmann, wanted to bury the car. In 1978, the German brand merged two 911 models, the 2.7 and the Carrera 3.0, creating the 911 SC. The power is reduced on a model that is identical to the Carrera 3.0, equipped with the 2.7 steering wheel. The 911 SCs will often be ordered with the Turbo's optional 3-spoke steering wheel. Mechanically, the 911 SC is less powerful but more torquey and offers greater flexibility. The 79 and 80 models will be modified to meet customer requests, the 3-spoke steering wheel will be adopted as basic equipment, the center console will be modified, the Targas roll cage will be reproduced in black and the power will be increased to 188 hp with a reduction in consumption.
In 1981, the SC version obtained 204 hp and was close to the performances of the 3.2. Despite the significant difference in driving sensations, the SC provided the pleasure expected from a 911 and proved to be a good model at the time, and a true icon nowadays.
