The Land Rover Defender TD5 110 SW comes from a lineage dating back to the first Land Rover in 1948. Initially called “One Ten” when it was launched in 1983, it became “Defender 110" in 1990 to distinguish itself from the new Discovery models.
Its TD5 engine, introduced in 1998, marked a turning point. This 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel produces 122 horsepower, replacing Tdi engines that have become obsolete in the face of Euro III standards. Although criticized for its electronic systems, the TD5 proves its reliability under extreme conditions. Combined with a sturdy steel frame, aluminum body, and coil springs, the Defender 110 offers excellent axle articulation and improved comfort.
The 110 SW (Station Wagon) model combines all-terrain capability and practicality, with a spacious cabin and up to nine seats. It is particularly popular for its military, humanitarian and utility uses, but also as an adventure vehicle. In 2016, after 67 years of production of the Series and Defender, production stopped with more than two million copies produced.
