Our Ferrari 488 Spider, with only 13,178 KM on the clock, was put into circulation on September 27, 2016 in Germany before being imported to France in 2018. The Ferrari 488 Spider, unveiled in 2015, is a convertible version of the 488 GTB. Like its predecessor, the 458 Spider, it has a retractable hardtop. Under the hood, we find the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as on the 488 GTB, generating 670 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. This engine allows the Spider to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 325 km/h.
The engine is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, derived from the one used on the 458. Braking improvements, with carbon ceramic discs, reduce stopping distances by 9% compared to the 458. The aerodynamic design has been optimized, increasing downforce by 50% compared to its predecessor while reducing drag.
The 488 Spider's weight is only 50 kg heavier than that of the coupe, thanks to the extensive use of aluminum and lightweight materials. The 488 Spider was praised for its combination of performance and design, and was named among the top ten tech cars of 2016 by IEEE Spectrum.
