The BMW Z4 M40i was unveiled in 2018 at the Paris Motor Show. This model is designed to succeed the Z4 E89, and is part of the third generation of the Z series. The Z4 M40i has a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, producing 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The car is based on a common platform with the Toyota Supra, the result of a collaboration between the two brands for cars with different philosophies.
The Z4 M40i is equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a chassis with adaptive suspension. Its production starts in Graz, Austria, at the Magna Steyr factories from March 2019. It is distinguished by its canvas roof, returning to a lighter solution compared to the hardtop of the previous generation. The Z4 M40i is sold until 2023, when it receives its latest technical and aesthetic updates before the next generation.
