Our BMW M3 Competition xDrive Touring was delivered new in France and put into circulation on December 20, 2022. It has only known one owner so far.
This example is in very good general condition, in keeping with its low mileage of 17,500 kilometers. In a Frozen Pure Gray Metallic color, combined with black forged wheels, interior and exterior carbon elements, and black leather seats, this M3 Touring is in beautiful condition. In particular, it is equipped with a PPF on the front block.
Mechanically, the functioning of this M3 Touring is flawless. The inline 6-cylinder engine developing 510 horsepower, combined with the 8-speed automatic transmission, transmits its power without a hitch. The manufacturer's warranty available until 2025 ensures its excellent mechanical condition.
Here are the options available to this BMW M3 Competition Touring:
In the 70s, BMW, following the enthusiasm for motor sports, was encouraged in its idea of developing its own dedicated division. As the success of the manufacturer Alpina on its range was also in full evolution, the brand took the lead in creating its new entity. It was the former driver Jochen Neerspach who then took control of the BMW Motorsport GmbH subsidiary on May 24, 1972. The first works of the sports division are special engines, as well as preparation for participation in Formula 2.
The first model developed entirely by BMW Motorsport appeared in 1978, under the name BMW M1. Initially developed for competition, 456 copies of it were produced for road use and inaugurated the expertise of BMW M. The 6-cylinder engine of the M1 was reused in 1984 on series models, and in particular for a certain M5 e26. It was followed 2 years later by the famous M3 e30, which definitively established BMW M as one of the most fashionable manufacturers. The M models followed one another year after year, until the release of a new variant proposed on the M3 version, with a station wagon body called Touring.
Presented during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June 2022, the M3 Competition Touring ushers in a new genre at BMW. Apart from the body, which recovers some aesthetic details such as a contourless radiator grill, black side skirts and a black roof, accompanied by the M anniversary logo, the changes are minimal. The Touring is only 7mm longer than the saloon, with a strictly identical wheelbase. However, there is an increase in the rear overhang, with some 20 liters saved in the trunk. No concessions are made on power, the M3 Touring being equipped with the M4 GT3's 3.0L twin-turbo 6-cylinder in-line engine. The power reached 510 horsepower and a torque of 650 Nm, allowing it to become the fastest station wagon in the world after a time of 7'35.060 on the North Loop of the Nürburgring. Here is a more than successful foray into the world of station wagons.
