Our Porsche Cayman 987.2, with only 70,300 KM on the clock, was put into circulation on 1 March 2010 in Japan before being imported to France in April 2024. Its current owner purchased it in December 2024.
This example comes in a Black color, combined with a brown leather and Alcantara interior and 17” Cayman II wheels. The condition of the body and the interior is excellent, with no faults to report.
Mechanically, this Cayman 987.2 is equipped with a 2.9L naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine developing 265 horsepower, combined with an automatic gearbox. Its operation is flawless. The maintenance was carried out exclusively at Porsche and by a Porsche specialist. Major maintenance was carried out on December 14, 2023. The complete maintenance book with Japanese stamp and the invoices for an important revision in France are available. The consumables are in excellent condition and no costs are to be expected.
Here are the options and equipment available to this copy:
The Porsche Cayman 987.2, unveiled in 2009, represents the evolution of the Cayman model launched in 2006. Born out of Project 987c, it shares many components with the second-generation Boxster, including the mid-engine platform, doors, headlights, and front interior design. Unlike the Boxster, the Cayman adopts a fixed roof that reinforces chassis stiffness and improves dynamic performance.
The Cayman 987.2 benefits from a new MA1.20/MA1.21 engine, with a 2.9 liter for the base model (265 hp) and a 3.4 liter direct injection for the Cayman S (321 hp). Intermediate shaft replacement (IMS), a weakness of previous engines, improves reliability. The Tiptronic automatic transmission is replaced by the 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, offering faster and more precise gear changes.
The Cayman S reaches 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds with a maximum speed of 280 km/h. The ultimate Cayman R version, launched in 2011, gains in power (330 hp) and lightness thanks to lightweight components and optimized aerodynamics. Inspired by the Porsche 356, 550 and 904, the Cayman 987.2 stands out for its sporty style and balanced performance, becoming a reference in terms of driving pleasure.
