- Excellent condition of presentation
- Low mileage for this model year
- Available history and up to date maintenance log
- Origin France
Our Porsche 911 Type 996.2 Carrera 4S was delivered new in France and put into circulation on February 26, 2002. It only knows two owners, including its current owner since 2020.
This copy is in excellent general condition. Its mileage is relatively low for a 2002 model, up to 74,000 KM. In a Kerguelen Gray color, combined with gray Turbo rims, red brake calipers and a black leather interior, this Porsche 911 is free of defects.
Mechanically, its condition is consistent with its aesthetic condition. Its 3.6L Flat 6 engine developing 320 horsepower, combined with the 6-speed manual gearbox, works perfectly and exudes a nice sound with each acceleration. Interviews are carried out in the Porsche Center and with specialists. The history of the work carried out is available, whether it is the invoices or the maintenance book. The last revision was carried out in January 2024 at 73,810 kilometers. This example has benefited from work on the IMS and a change of clutch, as well as ceramic polishing and installation.
Here are the options and equipment available to this Porsche 911 Type 996.2 Carrera 4S:
Launched in 1997, the Porsche 911 Type 996 is the 5th generation of 911. Unlike its predecessor 993, the 996 took a major technological and aesthetic turn, and in particular switched to water cooling for ecological reasons. The German brand decided to reduce its production costs by integrating large-scale production, and by reusing parts from other models, such as those from the Boxster.
The body is more imposing, with 18.5 cm in length, 3 cm in width and a wheelbase increased by 8 cm. The design is sleek and unadorned. At the mechanical level, water cooling, although highly criticized upon release, allows an increase in power and performance. The downsizing of the 3.4L engine does not prevent the power from increasing to 300 horsepower for the base model. A redesign of the engine will be carried out for a return to the 3.6L Flat 6 later, making it possible to increase to 320 horsepower for the 996 Carrera 4S in particular.
At the aesthetic level, the use of the Boxster optics for the 911 is not practical. The situation was quickly corrected with the release of the 911 Turbo and its inimitable look. The 996 Carrera 4S, which will be released some time later, will benefit from the changes made and in particular features the Turbo body, with headlights, wide fenders, and the return of the famous red band at the rear. The 996 Carrera 4S is one of the most popular 996 models thanks to its Turbo look design and excellent performance.
