Our Jaguar Type E Series 3 V12 was put on the road in 1973 in Europe. It has 101,324 kilometers on the clock, not guaranteed because of the 5-digit counter. Imported to France in 2004, its last change of ownership dates from 8 April 2016.
This copy is distinguished by its elegant beige color, combined with a red leather interior. The leathers have a slight patina and the interior is generally in good condition. On the body side, the car has a very good general condition, with no major defects to report.
Under the hood, this Type E Series 3 is equipped with the 272-horsepower V12, coupled to a manual gearbox. Its mechanical functioning is excellent. The only malfunction to note comes from the air conditioning. Fully monitored by a Jaguar specialist, the last revision will be done for sale, and the brake pads are 50% worn. A few invoices and historical information are available, as well as a repair file.
Here are the options and equipment available to this copy:
The Jaguar Type E Series 3, launched in 1971, is distinguished by its 5.3-liter V12 engine, a significant evolution from previous versions of the famous E-Type. This iconic model, produced between 1961 and 1974, marked the history of the automobile with its cutting-edge aesthetics and technologies inspired by race cars, including the Jaguar D-Type, which won Le Mans three times.
The 3 Series is characterized by technical improvements, such as reinforced brakes, standard power steering, and a new optional automatic transmission. This V12, equipped with four Zenith carburettors, produces around 272 horsepower, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 7 seconds. The long wheelbase chassis offered more interior space, making the 3 Series a more comfortable car, available in a convertible or 2+2 coupe version.
Visually, the 3 Series can be recognized by its large front grill, its widened wheel arches and its four exhaust outlets. Produced until 1974, this version marked the end of the Type E era, with only 15,290 units manufactured, including a few rare six-cylinder models.
