Presented in 2006, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano succeeded the 575M Maranello by renewing the concept of a front-engine V12 berlinette. Equipped with the Ferrari Enzo V12 engine, slightly deflated to 620 horsepower, the 599 GTB offers impressive performance, with a 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h. Its name evokes its engine capacity (5999 cm³) and the Fiorano circuit, the brand's emblematic test track.
The 599 GTB integrates technologies from Formula 1, developed with Michael Schumacher, such as the F1 paddle shifter that can change gears in 100 ms. Its aluminum chassis and F1-Trac system improve both stiffness and traction, offering precise and stable driving.
In 2009, Ferrari unveiled the HGTE (Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione) version at the Geneva Motor Show. Offered in only 300 copies in the factory version, the HGTE package was also available as a retrofit, but without the changes in the cabin. This package enhances performance with a faster F1 gearbox, axles lowered by 10 mm, firmer springs, and reinforced anti-roll bars. Aesthetically, the HGTE features satin details, Alcantara finishes, carbon, and a distinctive tachometer, among others.
