Developed in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette was first presented at the 1953 Motorama in New York. Born out of the imagination of Harley Earl, a 20th century designer, the first generation Corvette will receive mixed reviews from buyers due to its overpriced price and its rather ordinary performances. In 1962, more than 69,000 Corvettes were still assembled.

In 1963, Chevrolet found a new lease of life with the arrival of the Corvette Sting Ray, a real success signed by Larry Shinoda and Bill Mitchell. Equipped with a 250hp V8 engine, it was improved in terms of performance in 1966 with the arrival of the 425 hp V8 propelling it from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds.
